Have you lost your AirPods and now wondering, “how can I find my AirPods?” Listening to podcasts, listening to music, or watching videos on the go is easy with Apple’s AirPods. However, they’re prone to misplacing like your other small wireless devices. So, if you lose your AirPods, how do you find them?
Apple’s Find My app makes it easy to locate your AirPods. iCloud can also help you in finding your lost AirPods. In the Find My app, you will be able to view the most recent or current location of the AirPods.
Methods to Find Your AirPods
Following are the two prime methods that you can use to locate your AirPods.
Method 1: Through Find My App
Finding the location of Apple products is now much easier because of Find My app. Initially released in 2010, Find My iPhone builds on the iconic Find My Mac application.
The Find My app is perfect for anyone who regularly loses AirPods or other Apple products. The app allows you to find your lost device on a map or sound an alarm to ensure that you locate it quickly. Follow the given steps to discover your AirPods using the Find My app.
- Turn on the Find My app. You should visit your Apple device’s settings to see if the Find My app is on.
- At the top, click your name to access your Apple ID settings.
- You can find your Apple ID by selecting the “Find My” option.
- You can start the “Find My iPhone” option by sliding the slider to green.
- Now, start the Find My app on your device.
- Tap the AirPods icon.
- A map will display the location of your AirPods or the location when they last synced.
Method 2: Using iCloud
You will need to navigate to iCloud.com using a browser. After that, sign in with the credentials associated with your Apple ID. When you see the option “Find iPhone,” click on it.
When you first click “Find iPhone,” the system may ask you for a six-digit number; if it does, enter it, then choose “Find iPhone.”
If you click the Find My map, you will see a tab called “All Devices.” View the location of your AirPods by selecting them from the drop-down menu.
It’s impossible to use the Find My feature if you have an offline AirPod. Whenever your AirPods go offline, you will no longer be able to track your location in real-time.
Instead, you will only receive their last location online, which can be incorrect, especially if they are in transit or someone has picked them up. Leaving AirPods in a closed case or leaving the case without charging will make them offline.
However, if the AirPods are online, you can quickly locate them using the Find My App. Apple’s Find My app makes it much easier to find the location of Apple products.
Find My iPhone is a successor to Find My Mac. If you often lose your AirPods, the Find My app will be the best choice.
