What is Cash App Card?
Cash App Card is a debit card that you can use to access your Cash App account funds. Cash App supports Visa, American Express, MasterCard, and Discover debit cards. ATM cards, business debit cards, and PayPal are not currently supported.
The card enables you to access money from your Cash App account at traditional and online retailers. Anybody can use it, but teens or folks who don’t have traditional bank accounts will find it more convenient. Since it’s safe and hassle-free funding, it can work as a primary bank account.
Where to Load Your Cash App for Free
Options for loading Cash App for free are currently very limited. We discuss the two available options below.
Option 1: Ask a friend to send you money via their Cash App to your Cash App account. You can then refund the money in cash. This might not work for you if you don’t know anybody using Cash App. And your friend might not have the amount you need, which means you might have to ask more than one person.
Option 2: Transfer funds from an existing bank account to your cash App card. The existing account must be electronically verified and connected to your cash app account before making the request. For this reason, funding your card through this method might take between 1 and 3 days.
You can add a bank account to your Cash App account by following these simple steps.
- Log into your Cash App account.
- Locate the House Icon on the bottom left of your screen.
- Scroll down and click on “Linked Banks.”
- Click the link to the preferred bank.
- Follow the provided instructions and prompts to link the bank.
Once the verification process is complete, fund your Cash App from the linked bank account for free.
Affordable Options for Loading Your Cash App Card
If the above options don’t work for you, consider using any of the following retailers to load your cash app card at a small fee.
- Dollar Tree
- Dollar General
- Family Dollar
- Rite Aid
These participating retailers will charge a flat rate of $4 whenever you load your cash app card. Any cashier or customer service representative should be able to help you. The cashier will only ask for the telephone number you use to log into your Cash App account.
To get the best out of this method, load as much as possible to avoid the need to do it frequently. The retail outlets have locations near you, so you don’t have to spend more on transport.
Can I Load Cash App at an ATM?
Unfortunately, you cannot load Cash App at an ATM. However, Cash App can be used to withdraw cash from an ATM that accepts Visa cards. Expect Cash App to charge a standard withdrawal fee of $2 every time you withdraw from an ATM. But this fee will be reimbursed almost immediately if you keep at least $300 in your Cash App account.
If your account balance is lower than $300, it seems more sensible to avoid withdrawing frequently. Note that you will be able to withdraw up to a maximum of $1000 per week.
You’ll find Cash App ideal if you want the convenience of accessing financial services without owning a bank account. Parents will also find it useful for teaching teens how to handle and manage funds. Options for loading Cash App Card for free are pretty limited at the moment. But the good thing is that you can load your card at $4 at any participating retail store near you.
